We are please to introduce headspace Berri hERO, a team of seven young local leaders that was launched last Friday 1st April, 2016.

The team have made a commitment to regularly engage with, be responsive to and contribute their voice to their peers. Previously known as the 'Youth Reference Group', the 'hERO' group came up with the name themselves to represent 'headspace Engage Responsive vOices'.

Each of the hERO's recently completed the Youth Advocates Training program which prepared them for the role.

So far the group has been involved with activities through 'Harmony Week' and has been helping senior high school students with Stress Relief Strategies.

headspace Berri Centre Manager Christy Kitto says ‘headspace believe it is important to involve young people in the planning of youth participation strategies and activities, to provide a greater sense of ownership and a genuine partnership.  We want headspace centres to be inviting to young people and boosting community awareness of headspace services to the Riverland community is important'.
