The Gippsland Primary Health Network (GPHN) annual general meeting was held last week where winners of the 2019 inaugural Gippsland primary health awards were awarded.

We are excited to announce the headspace Bairnsdale won the Cultural Appropriate Support for Indigenous and other Diverse communities award for the 'Unique But United' project.
Our video submission demonstrated a community-led approach to provide a culturally sensitive support group for LGBTIQ+ young people aged 12-25 years, who wanted to meet other sexually and gender diverse young people and allies in a safe and supportive environment.

The GPHN awards aim to recognise and honour individuals and teams who work together to bring better health to the Gippsland region across four categories including: innovation; integration and partnerships; improved access to health services; and cultural appropriate support for indigenous and other diverse communities.
Applications were received from general practitioners, allied health organisations, hospital and community services, pharmacists, dentists, mental health professionals and Aboriginal medical services.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all who were nominated and recognised for their work throughout 2018.
